🏃‍♂️Closter's Dom Mircovich Memorial 5K - 44th Annual & Jim O'Halloran Kids Fun Run

Now in its 44th year, the 5k and Fun Run events will be held on its traditional Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Both events will be held on Sunday, 31 August, 2025. The Closter 5k is the prettiest course around and is also the oldest 5k in the Northern Valley.

Please note, that this year's townwide Labor Day Celebration (Scheduled for September 7) will not coincide with the Closter Annual 5K and Fun Run.

📍LOCATION

• Venue: Memorial Park, Harrington Ave., Closter, NJ
• Weather Policy: We run rain or shine, but not if there is a lightning warning. Updated info on the race status due to dangerous lightning can be found by calling 201.750.9507 mailbox 6 on the day of the race IF the weather is questionable.

📅SCHEDULE - September 1, 2024

• 8:00 am: Bib Pickup by basketball courts for those registered online (Note: There will be limited same day registration, but online registration is preferred.)
• 9:00 am: Jim O’Halloran Kids Fun Run (12 & Under)
• 9:30 am: Dom Mircovich Memorial 5K Walk/Run Race Start
• 10:30 am: Awards

🏁COURSE

• Certification: USATF Certified 5k Course: Re-measured for 2024 - NJ24017JLW
• Terrain: Mostly flat beside reservoir, through neighborhoods, & charming town center
• Timing: Timing & scoring by Best Racing Systems
• Water Stops: Multiple water stops

• Fun Run: The Fun Run distance is approximately 1k.

🏆AWARDS

• Overall Finishers: Top three male and female finishers overall
• Age Group: 1st three female & male finishers: 10U, and five-year Age Group Awards to 80+
• Team Awards: First three parent-child teams (Online sign-up only. No day of team registration.)
• Local Recognition: Fastest Closter resident-male & female
• Award Policy: Runners receive the highest award for which they are eligible only: no multiple awards are given.

• Early Bird Pickup: 2pm - 5pm, Saturday 8/30/25 at Runners' House, River Vale, NJ - TBC
• Registration Fee: Registration at Runners' House and on event-day will be $30.
