Dr. Ronald E. McNair Memorial 5K Run/Walk

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

The McNair 5K event is an annual event sponsored by the Ron McNair Committee, Lake City, SC. Our mission is to promote health and physical fitness for all ages.

• Event Format: Includes a half mile Kids run, for kids 12 and under, a 1 mile fun walk, and the 5K run (main event).
• Awards: Trophies and awards will be given to winners in the 5K Event and the Kids run.
• Course: The race course makes use of the city streets of Lake City, and will be available on the website for the Ronald McNair Committee.
• Health Fair: In addition to the races, we will also host a free health fair with health screenings, vaccinations, and other health related information/kits for distribution.

Date: October 18, 2025
Location: 235 East Main Street, Lake City, SC

• Race Schedule: 8:00 am Opening Ceremony, 8:15 am Kids Fun Run, 8:30 am 5K
• Proceeds: Go to the Ron McNair Committee.
• 5K Course Map: See Attached
• Shirts: Must be picked up on the day preceding the race (6:00 – 8:00 pm) and the morning of the race. No guarantee of sizes on the “day of race” registrations.

🏆 5K Awards

• Overall Awards: Based on Gun Time for Top 3 Overall Male & Top 3 Overall Female.
• Age Group Awards: Top 2 Male & Top 2 Female finishers in each age group.
• 5K Age Groups: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
• Kids Race ½ Mile Awards: Top 3 Overall Male & Top 3 Overall Female.

💲 Registration Fees

• Early Registration: Before October 18th -- $15 youth under 18, $25 Adults 18 and older.
• Late Registration: October 19th and later -- $20 youth under 18, $30 Adults 18 and older.
• Day of Race Price: Same as late registration.
• Packet Pickup Location: McNair Life History Center, 235 East Main Street, Lake City, SC 29560 (6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday and morning of the race).

🚼 Event Special Notes

• Strollers: Welcome at this event.
• Music: People are welcome to listen to music while running.
• Pets: On a leash are welcome at the event.
• Parking: Share with the public library: no parking in identified reserved spaces. There are no age restrictions on this event.
