Flo-Town 5K Run/Walk

Event Overview

The City of Florence Employee Wellness Program and Florence Track Club have partnered to bring you the 11th Annual Flo-Town 5K Run/Walk. The certified course will begin at the City's Waste Water Management Facility quickly accessing the Florence Trail System's Freedom Florence Connections. These trails, located in East Florence, make up approximately 8 miles of the City's Trail system. The course is comprised of natural beauty and history adjacent to the tranquil Jeffries Creek and the Florence Stockade. The Stockade and neighboring National Cemetery developed during the Civil War, and veterans from all wars since that time have been, and are still being, interred here.

Course Details

• Path: Runners and walkers will follow a natural path that winds through the woods adjacent to Jeffries Creek.
• Features: The course includes boardwalks, the Freedom Florence pond, and historical sites like the Florence Stockade.
• Historical Significance: The trail enters an area that was once a Confederate prisoner-of-war camp during the American Civil War.
• Facilities: Access to showers and restrooms at the newly completed LEED® Certified Administration & Laboratory Building.

• Overall Finishers: Top Male & Female Overall Finishers.
• Masters Categories: Top Male & Female Masters Finishers.
• Canines: Top 3 Canines.
• Age Groups: Top 3 Male and Female in each Age Group.

• Categories: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

Registration Prices

• Early Registration: Up to 4/16/2026 - $35.00.
• Late Registration: Day of event - $45.00.

Event Special Notes

• Strollers: Welcome, but the trail may pose challenges.
• Music: Feel free to listen to music while running.
• Dogs: Well-socialized dogs are welcome, but must be leashed and controlled.
• Behavior: Owners are responsible for their pets’ behavior and clean-up.
