🏃‍♂️ Dust Off Your Cape!

Dust off your favorite cape and lace up your running (or walking) shoes and become a superhero for abused children through CAPES for Kids!

Event Purpose: CAPES for Kids is an annual 5K|10K & Kids Fun Run, held in honor of a 3-year old Carver Elementary School student, who lost her life due to physical abuse and neglect in 2011.
Previous Name: Formerly known as the Carver C.A.P. Run, this event strives to honor her life, and the lives of children like her, while also raising awareness and support for victims of child abuse in our local community.
Funding: All proceeds support quality services at the CARE House of the Pee Dee for children who have been abused and their families.

Early Bird Registration: Open through March 31, 2026: 5K: $35.00, 10K: $40.00
Late Race Registration: April 1, 2025 - May 2, 2026: 5K: $40.00, 10K: $45.00
In-Person Registration: On Race Day: 5K: $45.00, 10K: $50.00
Kids Fun Run: With Shirt: $20.00, Without Shirt: $5.00

Importance: We strongly encourage all participants to pick-up their race packets during Packet Pick-Up if possible.
When: Friday, May 2nd 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Where: The CARE House of the Pee Dee, 1920 Second Loop Road, Florence, SC 29501

Overall Winners: 5K and 10K Medals for the top three female and male participants.
Age Group Winners: Medals for the top three in age groups: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Note: If you place Overall, you will not also be awarded for your age group.
Pets: Well-socialized and friendly dogs are welcome but must remain on a leash.
