Kick for Kenya

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Please join us on Saturday morning, May 9, for the 2026 Kick for Kenya 5K!

Run or walk for a cause - proceeds will be used to help fund planning and execution of community development training and projects in rural eastern Kenya in partnership with Kenya Kids (US-based nonprofit), the Touch Africa Child Education Programme (TACEP, a Kenyan NGO), and other local Kenyan community partners. Funds raised will be invested where needed most, in particular to provide educational opportunities, improve public health, and address food and water insecurity. Our Kenyan partners' long-term vision includes construction and development of a community center with dedicated space for field staff offices, tutoring and counseling services, animal husbandry and agricultural demonstration plots, and hosting speakers/conferences for educational instruction and vocational training, as well as on-site housing for children or families in need and/or short-term international visitors.

📝 Race Notes

• Registration, Entry Fees, and Donations

  • Early Bird Pricing: $35 per entrant registered by April 15.
  • Tax Deductible: Note that $25 of the $35 entry fee is considered tax deductible.
  • Entry Fee Increases: Goes up to $40 on April 16 and $45 the week of the race.
  • Additional Donations: Although additional donations (any amount) are also welcome, pre-registration is highly encouraged.

• Packet Pickup and Parking

  • Pre-race Packet Pickup: Available at Eastwind Community Church lobby on Sunday, May 3 from ~8:30 AM - 1:30 PM or at Fleet Feet Treasure Valley on Friday, May 1 from Noon-6 PM.
  • Day of Race Pickup: Runs 8-9 AM in Eastwind Community Church parking lot on Saturday, May 9.
  • Parking: Available across the street at Eagle Christian Church. Please note parking lot closed from 8 AM to noon.
  • Carpooling: Highly encouraged.

• Race Details

  • Start/Finish Location: Eastwind Community Church Parking lot.
  • Starting Time: Gun will go off promptly at 9:30 AM!
  • Course: Runs out and back along the Surprise Valley bike path to the turnaround near Highway 21.

• Amenities

  • Course Type: Accurate out-and-back course on flat, scenic bike path.
  • Course Marshals: At all intersections for traffic control.
  • Mile Splits: Provided along the course.
  • Post-Race Food: Available along with a party and great prizes for top finishers.
