Trail Running Festival

Event Overview

Come join us for the 3rd Annual Trail Running Festival at Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve on Saturday December 13th. Do you love trail running? Do you want to try it out for the first time? This race is for you. Running along well maintained trails this race will take you through some of the 2,500 acres of the Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve with old growth forests, oak hammocks and along the river and salt marshes of Spruce Creek.

Race Events

• Event Options: Badass Boar 48K Ultra Marathon, Hungry Horsefly Half Marathon, Torpid Tortoise 12K.
• Course Details: The course is a 12K or 7.5 mile loop: Half marathon and 48K participants will complete multiple loops on the trail.
• Walkers: Walkers are welcome for the 12K and Half.
• Cutoff Time: The cutoff for all distances is 2:00PM: participants must maintain a 14 minute per mile pace.

Race Start Times

• 7:00AM: Badass Boar 48K Ultra
• 7:30AM: Hungry Horsefly Half Marathon
• 8:00AM: Torpid Tortoise 12K Mile Trail Run

Packet Pickup

Location: Packet Pickup will be located in the pavilion Doris Leeper Park near the start/finish at 2317 Creek Shore Trail, New Smyrna Beach, 32168.

• Friday: 2pm to 6pm.
• Saturday: Starting at 6:00 AM.

Parking Information

Details: Parking is available at the start/finish line area, 2317 Creek Shore Trail, New Smyrna Beach. Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early to ensure you have time to walk to the start line and get organized before your run.

Post Race Activities

Join Us: Join us for the post race party with our classic homemade vegan chili, drinks, snacks and desserts, plus rum runners for our 21 and up crowd.

• Awards: Awards will be given for Overall Male and Female, Masters Male and Female and top 10 Male and Female for each distance.

Aid Stations

Stations: There will be 2 aid stations out on the course.

• Station Supplies: Each aid station will be stocked with a variety of snacks as well as with water and electrolyte drink.
• Cup Policy: Runners must bring their own cup/reusable bottle or hydration system.
• Location: Aid Station #1 is at the start/finish line: Aid Station #2 is approximately 2.6 miles into the 7.5 mile loop.
• Self-Sufficient: After the second aid station, you will have to be self-sufficient for 5 miles until you return to the start/finish area.

Drop Bags

Information: Drop bags may be left at the start/finish line for all runners. We will have volunteers on hand to help you mark your bag and leave it in our drop bag area. You will have access to your drop bag at the completion of each loop.
