Get ready to go nuts in Edenton! Join us on Saturday, October 4, 2025, for the Nut Run, an exciting kickoff to the 50th Annual Peanut Festival! Runners will enjoy a one-of-a-kind race experience through the scenic streets of historic Downtown Edenton and the rich farmland of Chowan County—home to generations of peanut growers.

🏅 Race Options

• Choose your challenge: 5K, 10K, or the 15K Nutty Challenge by running both back-to-back!
• Course highlights: Blends charming waterfront views, colonial architecture, and stretches of active peanut fields just before harvest.
• Timing: Finish the 10K within 1.5 hours to complete the Nutty Challenge and start the 5K on time at 8:30 am.
• Experience: A crisp fall morning full of Southern charm and small-town energy.

🎉 Post-Race Festivities

After crossing the finish line, stick around for a full day of festival fun:

• Parade: The Peanut Festival Parade rolls right after the race.
• Sack Race: A sack race for kids brings classic fun to the courthouse green.
• Live Music: Live porch music fills the air throughout downtown.

All proceeds benefit Main Street Edenton, supporting downtown revitalization, events, and historic preservation efforts that keep our beloved town vibrant and growing.

📏 Course Details

• 5K: Road course through historic Downtown Edenton, Hayes Farm, and the Historic Edenton Mill Village.
• 10K: Combination of road and trail course through Hayes Farm and active farm fields.

💵 Registration Information

• Cost: $35 - 5K
• Cost: $45 - 10K
• Cost: $55 - Nutty Challenge (10K + 5K = 15K)

• Local Pickup: 119 W Water St, Edenton, NC 27932, Friday, October 3rd | 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Race Day Pickup: At the race location, Saturday, October 4th | Starting at 6:00 AM

🏆 Awards

• Top Finishers: Top 3 Overall Male and Female finishers of the 15K Challenge will receive an award.
• Overall Awards: Top Overall Male and Female finishers of both the 10K and 5K will receive awards.
• Age Group Awards: Top 3 Male and Female finishers in the following age groups, in both the 10K and 5K: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
• Nuttiest Outfit: Top prize for the Nuttiest Outfit.
