🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

Get ready to go nuts in Edenton! Join us on Saturday, October 3, 2026, for the Nut Run, an exciting kickoff to the 51st Annual Peanut Festival! Runners will enjoy a one-of-a-kind race experience through the scenic streets of historic Downtown Edenton and the rich farmland of Chowan County—home to generations of peanut growers.

🏅 Race Options

• Distance Choices: Choose from a 5K, 10K, or take on the 15K Nutty Challenge by running both back-to-back!
• Course Highlights: The course blends charming waterfront views, colonial architecture, and stretches of active peanut fields just before harvest—offering a crisp fall morning full of Southern charm and small-town energy.
• Nutty Challenge Requirements: In order to complete the 15K Nutty Challenge you'll need to finish the 10K within 1.5 hrs and start the 5K on time at 8:30am.

🎉 Festival Fun

After crossing the finish line, stick around for a full day of festival fun:

• Parade: The Peanut Festival Parade rolls right after the race
• Kids Activities: A sack race for kids brings classic fun to the courthouse green
• Live Music: Live porch music fills the air throughout downtown

💰 Registration Details

• 5K: $35
• 10K: $45
• Nutty Challenge: $55 (10k+5k=15k)
• Kids Sack Race: Free

📦 Packet Pick Up

• Local Packet Pickup at 119 W Water St, Edenton, NC 27932 on Friday, October 2nd | 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Race Day Pickup: At the race location on Saturday, October 3rd | Starting at 6:00 AM

🏆 Awards

• Top 3 Overall Male and Female finishers of the 15K Challenge will receive an award.
• Top Overall Male and Female finishers of both the 10K and 5K will receive awards.
• Top 3 Male and Female finishers in the following age groups, in both the 10K and 5K: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-64, 65+
• Prize for the Nuttiest Outfit
• The award ceremony will immediately follow the 5k race at 210 E Water St.
