Edenton Nut Run

Event Overview

Get ready to go nuts in Edenton! Join us on Saturday, October 3, 2026, for the Nut Run, an exciting kickoff to the 51st Annual Peanut Festival! Runners will enjoy a one-of-a-kind race experience through the scenic streets of historic Downtown Edenton and the rich farmland of Chowan County—home to generations of peanut growers.

Race Options

• 5K: Choose this option for a fun challenge through the beautiful course.
• 10K: Enjoy a longer distance that showcases more of Edenton's charm.
• 15K Nutty Challenge: Take on both races back-to-back for an extra challenge.
• Course Highlights: Blends charming waterfront views, colonial architecture, and active peanut fields.

Post-Race Activities

After crossing the finish line, stick around for a full day of festival fun:

• Peanut Festival Parade: Rolls right after the race.
• Kids Sack Race: A classic fun event for children at the courthouse green.
• Live Music: Porch music fills the air throughout downtown.
• Charity Benefits: All proceeds benefit Main Street Edenton's Facade Grant program.

Course Details

• 5K Course: Combination road and trail course through historic Downtown Edenton, Hayes Farm, and the Historic Edenton Mill Village.
• 10K Course: Combination of road and trail course (part of the course will be on gravel road) through Hayes Farm and active farm roads.

Registration Fees

• $35: 5K
• $45: 10K
• $55: Nutty Challenge (10k + 5k = 15k)
• Free: Kids Sack Race

Packet Pick Up

• Local Packet Pickup: 119 W Water St, Edenton, NC 27932 on Friday, October 2nd | 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Race Day Pickup: At the race location on Saturday, October 3rd | Starting at 6:00 AM

Awards

• Top 3 Overall Male and Female finishers of the 15K Challenge will receive an award.
• Top Overall Male and Female finishers of both the 10K and 5K will receive awards.
• Top 3 Male and Female finishers in the following age groups for both the 10K and 5K: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-64, 65+.
• Prize for the Nuttiest Outfit: Special recognition for the most creative outfit.

The award ceremony will immediately follow the 5k race at 210 E Water St.
