Program Overview
- Partnership: Playmakers has partnered with Meridian Township Parks Department
- Target Group: Children in 3rd-6th grades
- Coaching: Good Form Running coaching from certified Playmakers staff
- Training Sessions: 12 sessions with opportunities to compete in area Cross Country races (NEW THIS FALL)!
Objectives
- Focus: Promote fun, healthy, active lifestyles
- Sport Introduction: Introduce kids to the sport of Cross Country
- Learning: Participants will learn proper dynamic warm-up techniques and Good Form Running practices
- Game Element: Each session includes a fun game!
Mileage Progression
- Starting Point: Mileage will start low
- Goal: Gradually increase to a goal of 2 miles
- End of Program: Achieve the target distance by the end of the program
- Support: Staff will guide participants throughout the training
