- Location: Key West’s Truman Waterfront Park
- Purpose: Raising awareness for first responders' mental health challenges
🏆 Super Eight Challenge
The day's competitive focus is the "Super Eight" challenge, where eight separate teams compete for trophies and medals, honoring the service of:
- 911 Dispatchers
- Correctional Officers
- Law Enforcement Officers
- Firefighters
🏅 Trophies and Awards
Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay will award the winning members of the top 3 first responder teams with trophies and gold, silver and bronze medals.
- Officer Alioht Valdes Marrero Trophy: Given to the winning team of the "Super Eight" competition.
- Dedicated Presentation: Presented by Key West City Commissioner Donald 'Donie' Lee.
- In Honor Of: Officer Alioht Valdes-Marrero, a beloved officer who served his community.
- Purpose: Raising awareness for first responders' mental health challenges.
🗓️ Event Details
- Opening Ceremony: Features Bishop Jonathan Carey praying for the wellbeing of all first responders.
- Registration: Open to all ages: parents should accompany young children.
- Packet Pickup: Pre-registration on January 9, 2026, from 5 PM - 7 PM at Fit2Run.
- Race Day Registration: Available from 6:00 AM - 7:30 AM at Truman Waterfront.
🎖️ Supporting Our Heroes
Participants are encouraged to cheer on the Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride, which takes place on January 9th and 10th.
- Donation: $5 will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project for each adult 5K registration.
- Community Ride: Join after the 5K and closing ceremonies.

🍽️ Post-Race Activities
- Refreshments: Available after the race.
- Raffles: Exciting raffles will take place after the race.
- T-shirts: The first 100 entrants will receive a free t-shirt.
- Medals: Awards for top winners and finisher medals for all participants.
