6th WIT Girl Power 5K Run/Walk at Montgomery Whitewater

• Organizer: Women In Training, Inc. (WIT), a youth empowerment nonprofit organization that works to end period poverty.

🎉 Race Description

• WIT 5K: A timed 5K (3.1 mile) Run/Walk Race, with awards based on time and unique WIT 5K t-shirts for all participants.
• Virtual Option: A VIRTUAL WIT 5K Run/Walk for those unable to attend in person, including mailed bib, shirt, and medal.
• Fundraising Aim: Raising funds to distribute #WITKITS of menstrual, dental, and hygiene supplies to underserved girls.
• Impact: Providing necessary products to combat period poverty among young menstrual individuals.

💪 About WIT

• Established: Founded in July 2019.
• Impact: Distributed over 50,000 WITKITS to girls and women in need across Alabama.
• Mission: To end period poverty and empower the women of tomorrow.
• Recent Stats: The number of girls unable to afford period products increased from one in five to one in four post-pandemic.

🏅 Awards

• Participants: Every participant in the 5K (in-person or virtual) receives a PARTICIPANT MEDAL.
• Winners: Overall male and female winners will receive unique Women In Training, Inc. trophies.
• Medals for Age Groups: Special medals for age group winners in addition to participant medals.
• Categories: Awards will be given for overall winners and various age groups for both boys and girls.
