Event Overview

• Purpose: The Plymouth Runway Mile and 5K are held at Plymouth Municipal Airport as a fundraising effort for scholarships for aviation students.
• Flight Training: Flight training is a costly endeavor and is often the largest hurdle that students must manage in order to pursue their dreams of becoming a pilot.
• Proceeds: All proceeds from Plymouth Runway will support scholarship opportunities for students through local flight schools.
• Race Features: Both the Runway Mile and Runway 5K are competitive races with chip timing and overall/age group awards. Strollers are welcomed.

Race Details

Plymouth Runway Mile

• Time: 9:00am start
• Course: The one-mile course starts on the south side of the main airport building. Participants will race on the newly constructed taxiway for 1/2 mile before turning onto the runway itself and heading back to the finish.
• Wave Start: Participants are asked to estimate their finish time in case a wave start is utilized. There are no finisher medals for the Runway Mile.
• Finish Line: The finish line for Runway Mile participants will close at 9:30am, with awards presented immediately.

Plymouth Runway 5K

• Time: 10:00am start
• Course: The 5K course starts on the south side of the airport building and features a unique opportunity to run the full length of the runway.
• Awards: There will be overall and age group awards for the Runway 5K. There are no finisher medals for the Runway 5K.
• Finish Line: The finish line for Runway 5K participants will close at 11:00am with awards immediately following.

Plymouth Runway Challenge

• Overview: Compete in both races at a discount! Registration for the Challenge will provide a bib for both races at a cheaper price.
• Custom Medal: Participants will receive a custom finisher medal for completing the Challenge.
• Awards Eligibility: Finishers are still eligible for overall and age group awards in both individual races.
• Time Limits: Participants must finish both races in their respective time limits to receive the finisher medal.

Parking Information

• Limited Parking: Due to limited parking at the airport, parking will be available at the airport on FRIDAY ONLY.
• Alternate Parking: On Saturday, participants/spectators will park at Plymouth High School and will be shuttled to the airport.
• Shuttle Service: Buses will run continuously from 7:00am to 12:00pm.
• Support Staff: Race staff will be present at both pickup/drop-off locations to answer any questions.

Awards

• Cash Prizes: Top 3 male & female finishers in both the Mile & 5K races will receive cash prizes.
• Age Group Awards: Age group awards to the top 3 finishers in each age group for both races.
• Awards Breakdown: 1st: $100, 2nd: $50, 3rd: $25.
• Age Groups: Various age groups from 8 & under to 80+.

Registration Information

• Registration Method: Registration through RunSignup is the only way to register for the Plymouth Runway Mile & 5K.
• Closing Times: Registration will close 15 minutes prior to the start of each race.
• Shirt Sizes: Shirt sizes are only guaranteed with registration by 5/16.
• Mile Registration Costs: $15 until 5/16/27, $20 starting 5/17/27, and $30 on Race Day.

Packet Pickup

• Location: Packet pickup will be at the airport on June 11th from 3-6pm and June 12th starting at 7:00am.
• Bib Pickup: You may pick up someone else's bib, but race bibs will not be handed out after the start of each race.
• Race Shirts: Race shirts may still be picked up after the race starts.
• Staff Availability: Staff will be present to assist during packet pickup.

Refund Policy

• Refund Deadline: A 100% refund, minus the processing fee, is available if requested on or before 5/31/27.
• No Refunds: There will be no refunds starting 6/1/27.
• Weather Cancellation: No refund for cancellation due to inclement weather, as this is a fundraising event.
