Plymouth Runway Mile & 5K Overview
- Event Location: Plymouth Municipal Airport
- Purpose: Fundraising effort for AlphaFlight, a locally owned flight school
- Support: Proceeds support scholarship opportunities for flight students
- Atmosphere: Includes competitive races, food trucks, and various aircraft displays
Race Details
- Runway Mile: Starts at 9:00 AM
- 5K Race: Starts at 10:00 AM
- Chip Timing: Both races offer chip timing and awards
- Stroller Policy: Strollers are welcome: children completing the course must be registered
Plymouth Runway Mile
- Course: Starts on the south side of the main airport building, 1/2 mile taxiway, then onto the runway
- Awards: Overall and age group awards, but no finisher medals
- Wave Start: Participants encouraged to estimate finish times for potential wave starts
- Finish Line Closure: Closes at 9:30 AM for awards presentation
Plymouth Runway 5K
- Course: Similar start, with the addition of running around the airport before heading back on the runway
- Awards: Overall and age group awards, no finisher medals
- Finish Line Closure: Closes at 11:00 AM with awards immediately following
- Unique Experience: Opportunity to run the entire length of the runway
Plymouth Runway Challenge
- Discounted Registration: Compete in both races for a cheaper price
- Finisher Medal: Custom medal awarded to Challenge participants
- Awards Eligibility: Finishers are eligible for individual race awards
- Time Limit: Must finish both races within time limits to receive the medal
Parking Information
- Friday Parking: Available at the airport only
- Saturday Parking: At Plymouth High School, with shuttle service to the airport
- Shuttle Times: Buses run from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Staff Assistance: Staff present at both pickup/drop-off locations
Awards Details
- Cash Prizes: Top 3 male & female finishers in both races
- Age Group Awards: Top 3 finishers in each age group for both races
- Age Groups: 8 & under, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
Registration Information
- Registration Method: Only through RunSignup, closes 15 minutes before each race
- Shirt Sizes: Guaranteed only with registration by 5/31
- Mile Registration: $15 until 6/1, $20 until 6/12, $25 on Race Day
- 5K Registration: $25 until 6/1, $30 until 6/12, $35 on Race Day
Packet Pickup
- Pickup Location: At the airport (301 Airport Rd)
- Times: Friday, June 12th, from 3-6 PM, and Saturday, June 13th, starting at 7:00 AM
- Proxy Pickup: You may pick up another participant's bib
- Race Bibs: Not available after each race starts
Refund Policy
- Refunds: 100% refund minus processing fee if requested by 5/31
- No Refunds: Starting 6/1 due to weather cancellations
