- Historic Route: Run through a crowd of thousands lining each side of Historic Green Street to cheer you on.
- Festive Atmosphere: Enjoy decorated historic homes and Christmas light-adorned oak trees.
- Dress Code: Wear a green Santa Suit while you race!
Christmas on Green Street Celebration
- Parade Features: Join the City of Gainesville for an annual celebration including a parade of antique cars, holiday floats, and marching bands.
- Parade Route: The parade starts at the Gainesville Civic Center and continues all the way down Green Street!
- Entertainment: Enjoy musical groups, magicians, face painters, balloon artists, storyteller, jugglers, and Santa Claus.
- Food Options: Delight in various food trucks available for participants and attendees.
Event Schedule
- Street Closure: Green Street will be closed while people visit the historic homes and enjoy entertainment.
- Lighting Ceremony: The night will end with the traditional Lighting of the Rotary Tree at approximately 5:30 p.m.
- Lighting Location: The lighting takes place at the intersection of Green Street and West Academy Street!
