5K Your Ways

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

• Event: 5K Your Way is a 3.1 mile race.
• Course Options: Participants can choose between an asphalt trail system or a dirt trail system.
• Start: All participants will start at a common point and split off onto their chosen course before merging again at the finish.
• Trail Conditions: The asphalt course includes approximately 200 yards of gravel (part of it uphill), which could be difficult with strollers.

🐾 Pet Policy

• Dog Lovers: We appreciate dog lovers, but please respect participants who may not feel the same by leaving pets at home during the race.

🌦️ Trail Conditions & Proceeds

• Weather Impact: Dirt trail conditions can be affected by weather: if the dirt trails are unusable, all participants will use the asphalt trails.
• Support Our Cause: All proceeds will go to the NOW [Nutrition on Weekends] program offering meals to at-risk children when the school system is unavailable.

🏆 Prizes & Awards

• Top Winners: Prizes for Top Male and Female Dirt Trail Winners, and Top Male and Female Asphalt Trail Winners.
• Medals: Medals for 1st place in each age group (17 and under, 18-24, ..., 65 and over).
• Kids Fun Run: Finisher Medals and T-shirts for all children participating in the Kids Fun Run.

📅 Race Schedule

• October 2nd: 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - early packet pickup and late registration (Late registration fee: $30 cash or check only).
• Location: Crawford County Forest Preserve shelter, 5886 E. 1050th Ave, Robinson, IL 62454.
• October 3rd: 6:45 a.m. - 7:45 a.m. - race day packet pickup and late registration (Late registration fee: $30 cash or check only).
• Starts: 7:45 a.m. - Pre-race meeting: 8:00 a.m. - Kids fun run: 8:15 a.m. - 5K race start: 10:00 a.m. - Race awards and prize drawings.

🎉 Local Events

• Heath Harvest Festival: Located on the square in Robinson, IL, featuring street vendors with food and crafts for sale and a parade.
• Wabash Valley Wine and Arts Festival: Located in Palestine, IL, showcasing wine, food, and craft vendors on a historic main street.

📣 Race Details

• Facebook Updates: Follow race details on Facebook at {5K Your Way {paved or trail}}.
• T-shirt Cutoff: The cutoff date for a guaranteed t-shirt is September 14th.
• Online Registration: Ends September 27th.
• Late Registration: Available at early packet pickup on Oct. 2 or race day packet pickup on Oct. 3.
