This race will continue to honor the memory and legacy of Greg Deaton. His favorite verse was Philippians 4:13, which says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Our race is grounded in this standard. Greg was a pastor with New Salem Baptist Church and the camp director for the Laurel River Baptist Association. Greg's legacy reaches well beyond those two positions. He wore many hats and was many things to people far and wide. Greg loved the Laurel Lake Baptist Camp and what it stood for. He loved telling people about Jesus. The goal of this race is to honor Greg while ultimately glorifying God and promoting + benefitting the camp that he loved so dearly. Please join us for a time of remembrance, fun, and fellowship!
This year we pushed the race date into December so we're throwing in a Christmas theme! Christmas at the Camp. There will be Christmas themed decorations along with hot cocoa and cookies. We encourage you to dress up in a Christmas outfit to run the race in if you wish!
We will have swag bags and t-shirts available for registrants while supplies last. First come-first serve. Awards will be given out to top place finishers.
ALL proceeds will go to Laurel Lake Baptist Camp!
