Host: The 89er 5K is hosted by the cadets in the '89er Battalion, Guthrie High School JROTC.
History: The Guthrie JROTC program is the first JROTC program in the State of Oklahoma, dating back to 1935.
Participation: As a 5K event, we encourage competitive runners, recreational runners, and walkers.
Purpose: This is a community fundraising event for the students, with proceeds supporting educational opportunities and Veteran organizations.

Theme: This year's 89er day race celebrates Guthrie's legendary boom - from 10 to 10,000 in one day.

Start/Finish Line: The Start/Finish line is at Honor Park in Downtown Guthrie, near 301 West Harrison Avenue, across from the Oklahoma Publishing Museum.
Course: USAT Certified Course: OK24012MU.
🚗 Parking
Important Notice: Harrison is closed at Division Street.
Alternative Routes: Turn west on Vilas to 2nd or 3rd Street for parking.
Parking Areas: Park along Harrison Ave. west of 2nd street, or on 3rd street.

Availability: T-Shirts will be available for the first 150 registered runners.

Award: Medals awarded to the first 100 finishers.

Categories: Trophies for the top male & female in age categories: 18 & Under, 19 - 35, 36 - 49, 50 & Up.
💲 Pricing
Age-based Pricing: This event is age-based with adjusted pricing at the end of registration.
5 & Under: Free.
6 - 18: $10.
19 & Up: $20.
📅 Race Packet Pickup
Pickup Schedule: Race shirts and bibs can be picked up starting Friday at the JROTC building at Guthrie High School until 4 pm.
Location: The JROTC building is located in the metal buildings behind the high school. Look for door #29, which has a JROTC sign.
Morning Pickup: You are also welcome to pick up your shirt and bib the morning of the run starting at 8 am.

Event Conjunction: This 5K will be held in conjunction with Guthrie's 89'er Day Parade and celebration.
Activities: Come out for the parade, carnival, food trucks, and MORE!
Cultural Significance: Oklahoma's '89er Day Celebration commemorates Oklahoma's first land run on April 22, 1889.
