Break the Barrier 5K & 1k

Event Overview

Join us for ConnectAbility of MN’s Break the Barrier 5K & 1K for every body. This inclusive event is geared towards the whole family. Whether you're running, walking, rolling, or strolling, this event is about breaking down barriers and building a supportive community.

Tours & Vendors

• Open Building Tours: Our building will be open to the public for tours of our Assistive Technology & Mobility Lab.
• Event Amenities: The event parking lot will have free snacks, water, and community resource booths.

Early Bird Signup - Free Shirt

• Registration Deadline: Free event shirts will be provided to all 5K and 1K participants who register by May 15, 2026.

Free Medals

• Participation Reward: Medals will be given to all participants at the finish line.

Check In

• Arrival Time: On the day of the event, please arrive 15 - 20 minutes before your event start time.

Event Schedule

• 5K Run: Starts at 8:00 am.
• 5K Walk: Starts at 9:00 am.
• 1K: Starts at 10:00 am.
• Check In: At the event tent, you will sign in and receive your t-shirt (if applicable) and bib.

1K Chalk Paths

Colorful chalk paths will cover half the width of the 1K event route. Following chalk paths is optional.

The event will take place at 2901 3rd Street South, Waite Park, MN.
