Race Information

Please note: There are no refunds. If the live event cannot be held, registrations will be converted to the Virtual Race.

Event Details

• Date: 2026-08-23
• Location: 801 E Sangamon Ave, Springfield, IL
• Course: This challenging 10K course is USATF certified and a lot of fun!
• Options: Abe's Amble includes a 5K option in addition to the longstanding 10K distance.

Registration

Register by Sunday, July 12 to guarantee a race shirt! There will be NO extra shirts ordered!!!

Start Format

Races will begin in a traditional mass start format. The 10K and 5K will begin at 7:30am.

Packet Pickup

• Date/Time: Saturday August 22, 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
• Location: Lincoln Park Pavilion, Springfield, IL (1601 N Fifth St)
• Expo: Enjoy our little Expo with sponsors and a pre-race photo opportunity!
• T-Shirt Notice: Participants who registered by the t-shirt deadline will receive the size selected during registration.

Please do your best to attend the Saturday packet pickup. You are welcome to have someone else pick up your packet for you if cannot make it.

Limited race day packet pickup will be available on race day morning at the fairgrounds at 6:30-7:15 a.m.

Finisher Area

There will be bottled water, bananas, and other refreshments in the finisher area.

Race Results & Awards

Participants who opted in during the registration process will receive a text message with their time shortly after crossing the finish line.

• Live Results: Results will stream live throughout the morning and be available at: http://www.ItsRaceTime.com
• Award Categories: 10K: Top Overall M/F, Top Masters M/F, and Top 3 M/F in each age group.
• 5K Awards: Top Overall M/F and Top 3 M/F in each age group.
• Post-Race Ceremony: Award winners will be recognized in a post-race awards ceremony after the race.

Results will be linked on the Springfield Road Runners Club Facebook page after all participants have finished.

Race Medals

Race medals will be provided at the finish line for those participating in the race. Medals are awarded for both the 10K and the 5K events.

Virtual Participants

Run or walk your 5k/10k whenever you choose! Beginning Monday after the race, you will be able to submit your time. Note: the link will not be available until that day. You can submit your results for 1 week following the opening date.

• Results: Virtual participants will appear in the race results but are not eligible for age group awards.
• Packet Pickup: You are welcome to pick up your race packet on Saturday.
• No Shipping: There will be no shipping for any virtual or live race participants.

Note: We often invite Illinois Senior Games to participate in connection with this race. You are not eligible for Illinois Senior Olympics if you register for Virtual participation.
