Race Overview

• Course Type: Boston Marathon qualifying USATF Certified Course
• Start/Finish Location: The course starts (and finishes) at the Bowling Green Ballpark and runs a 13.1 mile loop through historic downtown Bowling Green, Kentucky and the beautiful campus of Western Kentucky University.
• Proceeds: All proceeds from the bg26.2 & half marathon go to the National MS Society in memory of Susan B. Riherd.
• Finisher's Medal: All finishers will receive a finisher's medal along with post-race refreshments. Post-race stretches and massages will be available.

Race Schedule

• Start Time: 7:00 a.m. Central Time for the bg26.2 & half marathon.
• Course Loops: Marathoners will run the course twice.
• Checkpoints: There will be 5 checkpoints on the course for marathon runners and 2 checkpoints for half marathoners.
• Important Note: If registered as a marathoner and only run one loop (13.1 mile), when crossing the finish line you will be a DNF.

Expo & Pasta Dinner

• Pasta Dinner: Will be held on Saturday, November 1 at Bowling Green Ballpark from 5 - 7pm.
• Race Day Packet Pickup: Sunday, November 2nd 6:00-6:30am at BG Ballpark Concession Window (no packets will be given out after 6:30am).
• Cost: The pasta dinner is free to each paid participant. Guests may purchase $3 tickets at the door.
• Virtual Race Packets: Will be mailed the first week in November, or sooner if possible.

Course Information

• Maps: Map and printable turn-by-turn instructions are available here.
• Course Accessibility: The bg26.2 is an open course with certain coned lanes.
• Headphones Policy: Suggested to follow the "one-ear" policy: Leave your left ear free.
• Participant Movement: After the 6-hour limit, participants will be asked to move to the right side or sidewalks.

Awards

• Overall Finishers: Awards for overall finishers are determined by gun times, chip times will be used to determine other award winners.
• Awards Claims: Look for the bg26.2 awards tent on the concourse area to claim your award.
• Marathon Awards: Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male & female finishers.
• Half Marathon Awards: Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male & female finishers.

bg6000

• Race Description: The bg6000 is a 6k race through downtown Bowling Green, starting at the same place as the marathon and half marathon.
• Start Time: 7:15 a.m. Central Time.
• Awards: Overall Male/Female finisher and 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place in various age groups.
• RRCA Kentucky State Championship: Awards will be given to overall male and female open, masters, grand masters, and senior grand masters in the bg26.2 marathon.

bgKIDS

• Event Description: The bgKIDS26.2 fun run will take place Saturday November 1st at Bowling Green Ballpark.
• Distance: Participants will run two laps around the concourse for a total distance of one kilometer.
• Start Time: 4:00 p.m. Central Time.
• Incentives: All participants will receive a finisher's medal and Mr. B's Pizza.

Parking

Parking Location: Free parking is available at the Stadium Park Plaza parking garage adjacent to Bowling Green Ballpark where the race events including the expo and packet pickup will be held.

Note: Some lots in downtown Bowling Green are private parking lots and are not free. Ensure you park in free areas to avoid towing.

Refunds

• Policy: bg26.2 & Half Marathon does not offer refunds for any event. All registrations are final.
• Transfers/Deferrals: Can be completed by registrants in their RunSignUp race dashboard (fees may apply).
