Race Overview
The Amway River Bank Run, presented by Fifth Third with Corewell Health as the Official Health Partner, is held every year in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan on the second Saturday of May.
2027 Celebration
- Date: May 8, 2027
- Milestone: Celebrating 50 years
- Events: Features the largest 25K road race in the country
- Categories: Includes USA 25 km Open Championships, 25K Handcycle, 25K Wheelchair, 10K Run, 5K Run, and 5K Community Walk
Virtual Participation
- Options: Virtual events available for 25K, 10K, 5K, or 5K walk
- Flexibility: Complete the distance on any course and at any time between May 1 and May 31
- Finishing Times: Extended finishing times compared to in-person cutoffs
- Swag: Receive high-quality race shirts, premium medals, and a virtual race bib
Race History
- Inception: Started in 1978 with just over 1,000 runners
- Renaming: Renamed in 2001 after Old Kent Bank merged with Fifth Third Bank
- Ownership Transition: In 2018, race ownership transitioned to Riverbank Events and Media
- Current Title: Amway River Bank Run since 2019, with Fifth Third Bank and Corewell Health as partners
