God's Country Marathon 2026

Event Overview

Welcome to the God's Country Marathon, Half Marathon and Team Relay held in beautiful Potter County, Pennsylvania!

Race Recognition

• Toughest Marathons: The God's Country Marathon has been named one of the "10 toughest marathons" in the United States by Runner's World Magazine.
• Best Small Marathons: Recognized as one of the "best small marathons" in the country.
• Unique Experience: No crowds, beautiful scenery, top-notch service and a hometown feeling make this race a unique road racing experience.

Course Details

• Point-to-Point Course: The course runs west on scenic U.S. Route 6 from Galeton (elevation 1,300 ft.) to Coudersport (elevation 1,400 ft.).
• Elevation Challenge: Mile 14 marks the beginning of a three-mile climb up notorious Denton Hill, culminating at an elevation of 2,424 ft.
• Scenic Descent: From Denton Hill, runners will enjoy a downhill stretch into historic downtown Coudersport.

For over 50 years, our little marathon has been attracting challenge-seeking runners from across the nation.
