Veterans Day 5K Beach Run/1 Mile Walk

We invite you and your family to a meaningful Veterans Day event along the beautiful shoreline of Saint Simons Island, honoring those who’ve served and confronting a crisis we cannot ignore.

💔 The Crisis We Face

• Statistics: Every single day, 22 veterans die by suicide.
• Impact: These are not just numbers: they are parents, children, siblings, and friends.
• Challenges: Many return from service carrying both visible and invisible wounds.
• Support: Returning to civilian life is not always easy for many veterans.

🏌️‍♂️ Why We Run

Fairways for Freedom®, in partnership with SSI VFW Post 4092, is working to change that. Proceeds from this event will directly fund local programs that help combat-injured veterans reconnect, recover, and rebuild their lives using innovative, holistic approaches through several ways, including the healing power of golf.

This event is more than a run. It’s a commitment to raise awareness, fight stigma, and save lives.

📝 Registration

All entries include a T-shirt and a finisher medal.

Register by September 7th to secure early bird pricing:

• 5K Race: $30
• 1 Mile Walk: $30
• Children Under 12: $20

Starting September 8th, prices increase to:

• 5K Race: $35 up
• 1 Mile Walk: $35
• Children Under 12: $25

💯 100% of entry fees and donations go directly to Fairways for Freedom® to support local combat-injured veterans.

🧥 EXTENDED until Oct 15th T-shirt Guarantee: Register by October 8th, 2025, to ensure your event T-shirt.

👟 This event will not be chipped. There will not be awards for age groups. There will be prizes drawn at the end of the run (must be present to win).

📅 Race Day Schedule of Events

• 7:00 am: Race Day - Registration Opens Electronic Reg only (no cash)/ Bib Pick Up. You will be required to show proof of registration via your phone.
• 7:45 am: Race Day - Registration Closes. Head to the Starting line.
• 8:00 am: Event Start Time.
• 9:15 am: Prizes will be drawn at the end of the event. No age group awards.

📦 Pre-Registration Bib Pick Up

• Monday, November 3, through Friday, November 7, Game Changers Running Company, 262 Redfern Village, SSI, GA, during business hours. We highly recommend having proof of registration to pick up your bib.
• Day of Run - 7:00 am - 7:45 am, Run location - via QR code at registration table. You will be required to show proof of registration via your phone.
