ABOUT REDEMPTION CITY: 

 

Redemption City seeks to help people experiencing homelessness find shelter while providing comprehensive and holistic care. We are rooted in a deep conviction that every human being has incredible value, worth and dignity. We want to help restore that dignity. We strive to impart skills so they may thrive in life rather than simply housing and turning them back out to repeat the cycle.

Estamos arraigados en la profunda convicción de que todo ser humano posee un valor, una dignidad y una valía increíbles. Queremos ayudar a restaurar esa dignidad. What makes Redemption City different?

 

Redemption City isn’t just a shelter—it’s a structured pathway from crisis to stability that meets each person exactly where they are. We recognize that no two stories are alike, and that lasting change doesn’t happen on a timeline. Our approach combines compassion with accountability, giving participants the individualized support, structure, and the time they need to rebuild their lives through consistent effort, the development of healthier habits, and the creation of positive, supportive connections. Through our three programs—North Star Navigation Center, Sunshine House, and The Lighthouse—we provide a continuum of care that moves individuals from emergency shelter to longer-term/transitional housing. Participants receive hands-on case management focused on life skills, employment readiness, budgeting, and wellness, while also taking part in household responsibilities, volunteering, and community engagement. We set clear expectations, but we walk alongside each person through every step of their journey. Our team helps secure essential documents, navigate benefits, find meaningful work, and reestablish confidence and independence. Redemption City’s programs are not one-size-fits-all—they are personal, intentional, and built around steady, sustainable progress. At its core, Redemption City is about transformation—not just finding shelter, but rediscovering purpose, belonging, and hope.

Redemption City no es solo un refugio: es un camino estructurado de la crisis a la estabilidad que acompaña a cada persona exactamente donde se encuentra. Reconocemos que no hay dos historias iguales y que el cambio duradero no ocurre según un calendario. Nuestro enfoque combina compasión con responsabilidad, brindando a los participantes el apoyo individualizado, la estructura y el tiempo que necesitan para reconstruir sus vidas mediante un esfuerzo constante, el desarrollo de hábitos más saludables y la creación de conexiones positivas y de apoyo.

A través de nuestros tres programas —North Star Navigation Center, Sunshine House y The Lighthouse— proporcionamos un continuum de atención que acompaña a las personas desde el refugio de emergencia hasta viviendas de transición o a más largo plazo. Los participantes reciben gestión de casos práctica enfocada en habilidades para la vida, preparación laboral, presupuesto y bienestar, mientras participan en responsabilidades del hogar, voluntariado y compromiso comunitario.

Fast & flat out & back course inside Cape Henlopen State Park from the fishing pier to Ft. Miles.

 

Recorrido rápido y plano de ida y vuelta dentro del Parque Estatal Cape Henlopen, desde el muelle de pesca hasta el Fuerte Miles.

$30 Pre-registration through Saturday, December 12th closing at 10:00pm

$35 race-day registration from 8--8:55 am at the Fishing Pier Pavillion
