Campaign For Shane 5k

🎖️ Event Overview

10th annual run/walk in honor of PFC Shane Cantu who was killed in action August 28th 2012 in Afghanistan. Shane served for the Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade.

This year the annual 5k commemorates 13 years since the loss of PFC Shane W Cantu in Afghanistan. The pain of this loss is still sharp but the friends and neighbors and community that run with us on the day are so important in keeping his memory alive!

📅 Registration Details

• Early Packet Pick Up: at the Farmers Market in Owosso Saturday, August 23rd, 10am to noon.
• Race Day Packet Pick Up: starts at 7:30 am.
• Start: Chip start at 9am.
• Registration Cost: $25 until August 15th, shirt is guaranteed. $30 until August 23rd, limited shirts. $35 Race Day limited shirts.

🏃‍♂️ Course Information

• Course: Accurate paved and fast through the streets of Owosso!
• Awards: Medals to top 3 female and male in age groups: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over. Award to overall male and female winner.
• Results: Live results texted to your phone and on this web site.
• Free Breakfast: Free breakfast to follow race, donations accepted.

💰 Proceeds and Support

All proceeds go to help local veterans.

⏱️ Timing and Reporting

The race will be chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation.
