Event Overview
Put on your running shoes and join the Burlington Township Police FOP Lodge #84 in a 5k run, the fourth annual ‘Cardio for Cosmo’ Memorial 5k run honoring fallen Detective Steven T. Cosmo #3099. Detective Cosmo impacted the lives of so many people, and it is our job to now honor and remember him for the loving, caring and dedicated man that he was.
Purpose of the Event
- Memorial Event: This event is a memorial 5k run with the intention of memorializing Detective Cosmo.
- Support Programs: Funds help provide suicide prevention and assistance to law enforcement and military personnel.
- Scholarships: Scholarships for students interested in law enforcement, military, or mental health professions.
- Mental Health Focus: Your participation benefits various programs that focus on mental health education in law enforcement.
Course Details
- Course Type: The run offers a hilly and fast 5K run and a flat 1 mile walk course.
- Location: Begins and ends at the Burlington Township Municipal Building, 851 Old York Rd.
- Event Timing: The 5k run includes Run Chip timing and HD finish line video.
- Results Notification: Text message results available within seconds of the race conclusion.
Participation Details
- Commemorative T-Shirts: Given to all participants registered by April 6, 2026.
- Awards: Awards for top three female & male overall and top three in several age groups.
- Age Groups: Awards include ages 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.
- Award Presentation: Overall and age group awards will be presented at the conclusion of the race.
Check-In Information
- Check-In Times: Check-in and bib pick up will run from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. on race day.
- Additional Pick-Up: Other bib/shirt pick up dates are May 13 and May 15, 2026, from 5 to 7 pm.
- Location: Pick up at the Municipal Building Rotunda, 851 Old York Rd.
- Participation Requirement: Waivers must be signed by all participants: please have name and bib number if picking up for someone else.
