- Participants: Limited to only 650 runners
- Features: Chip-timed, USATF certified, live music and vendors
Memorial Background
- Tragedy Date: June 2, 2016, due to a plane crash involving USMC Captain Jeff Kuss
- Community Response: Strong support from the Smyrna community and Blue Angels fans
- Living Memorial: Established to honor Captain Kuss’ life and service
- Memorial Features: Includes a retired Blue Angel F/A-18 Hornet aircraft on permanent loan to the Town of Smyrna
Proceeds and Fundraising
- Use of Proceeds: Ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the memorial
- Scholarship Fund: Proceeds support the Memorial Scholarship created in 2023
