EXPO 10K and 5K

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

The EXPO 10K/5K is more than a race: It's Knoxville's oldest and most beloved community running event. 2025 will mark the 48th running of this annual event. The expo is truly a tradition. It is the only local race that celebrates the family by having mother/son, mother/daughter, father/son, father/daughter, wife/husband, and three generations categories.

📅 Date, Time, & Place

• Date: Saturday May 24th, 2025
• Kidd's Mile: 7:00am
• 5K and 10K Starts: 7:30am
• Note: Start times are subject to change. Please confirm when race week communication is sent out.

Course Description and Highlights

Course starts in front of Crafty Bastard on Central Avenue, turns right on Magnolia, turns left on Gay Street, turns left on Jackson, then right onto Central again. Then follow Central down to Neyland Drive to the turnaround and follow the same route back for an-out and-back course. Both courses follow same route, the 10K simply goes further out Neyland. ⏳ Course Time Limits

• Time Limit: Participants must be able to finish the 10K in one hour and forty minutes after the last runner starts.
• Closure: 10K course closes at 9:15

💲 Registration & Entry Fee

Please note that only one coupon per person may be used when registering for KTC events. One coupon may be used in addition to KTC Member discount, Team Member discount, and potential no-shirt discount. Any coupons must be entered at checkout.

• Registration: Jan 25th-May 19th: 10K-$40: 5K-$30: Kid's Mile-$10
• Late Registration: May 20th-May 25th: 10K-$45: 5K-$35: Kid's Mile- $10
• Race Day Registration: 10K-$50: 5K-$40: Kid's Mile-$15

📦 Packet Pickup Information

• Date/Time: Saturday May 25th, Crafty Bastard 6:00am-7:15am
• Early Pickup: Thursday, May 23 - 5:00pm-7:00pm, Runners Market.

👕 T-shirts

Short-sleeved, unisex shirts. Please note our new shirt policy: Anyone registering after May 10 will receive shirts while supplies last. The shirt order will be placed on May 16 and when the inventory runs out in the Runsignup system, there will be no more shirts. No re-orders.

🏆 Awards

• Overall Awards: Awards to the top 3 Overall, age groups, and specialty categories.
• Age Divisions: Begin with 14 and under, then 5 year increments.
• Specialty Awards: Awards to the top specialty teams in Mother/Son, Mother/Daughter, Father/Son, Father/Daughter, Husband/Wife, and Three Generations.

🏅 Grand Prix Points Team Competition

The Expo 10k/5k is on the 2025 Team Competition schedule. 2025 Grand Prix Points awarded winners in various categories and age groups. Points accumulate throughout the year. KTC recognizes the top 10 men and women in the Grand Prix series at the New Year’s Day 5K on January 1, 2026. Remember, to be eligible for Grand Prix Points, participants must be a member of KTC and must volunteer for at least 3 KTC races throughout the year.

🥤 Post Race

Light refreshments will be provided, and Crafty Bastard will be open for a post-race drink.

📜 Race Etiquette

Due to insurance regulations, roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course. Headphones are always discouraged in KTC events.
