DIRTY SOUTH TRAIL HALF MARATHON, TRAIL 10K, and KIDS TRAIL MILE

TIME & PLACE

• Half Marathon and 10K: Start at 9:00 am.
• Kids Trail Mile: Race starts at 8:30 am.
• Location: Mead's Quarry, just south of Ijams Nature Center on Island Home Avenue, Knoxville TN 37920.
• Note: This kids mile is separate from the seven race series.

SUSTAINABILITY

• Carpool: Link up with friends and carpool if possible.
• Transit: Meads Quarry has a stop on the Knoxville Area Transit Line 40.
• Transit Info: Check out their site for maps and schedules.
• Bike Options: Utilize their bike and ride option.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

• Distance: 13.1 mile course traverses scenic areas including Forks of the River Wildlife Area and Ijams Nature Center.
• Terrain: A mix of rocky, technical single track and buffed out, flowing mountain bike trail.
• Time Limit: Course has a 4 hour time limit.
• Kids Course: Kids will run their own trail mile in the woods.

• Map: Located at Mead's Quarry near Ijams Nature Center.

• Policy: No refunds and no bib transfers.
• KTC Member Discount: Accepted for registration.

• Special Shirt: Printed tech shirt guaranteed to be loved!
• Order Deadline: Registrations after November 12 receive a shirt only while supplies last.
• Inventory: The shirt order will be placed on November 12 with no re-orders.
• Donations: Shirts not picked up will be donated.

TTT SERIES AWARDS

• Awards: Top 3 in each division receive free race entries at the end of the 2025 trail race season.
• Announcement: Winners announced at the KTC Holiday Party in December.
• Qualification: Must be a KTC member and volunteer two times during the trail race season.

RESULTS

• Availability: Results will be posted on the Knoxville Track Club website: www.ktc.org.
• Also: Results available on Runsignup.com.

COURSE ETIQUETTE

• Disqualification: Unsportsmanlike conduct or abuse to volunteers may lead to disqualification.
• Prohibited Items: No headsets, earphones, bicycles, baby strollers, roller blades or pets on the course.

SAFETY

• Stations: Aid and water stations provided.
• Personal Hydration: Urged to carry own water and hand-held cups.
• Allergy Precautions: Recommended to carry medication for insect stings or bites.
• Training: Pre-race training off-road is recommended for experience.

SAFETY POLICY CLARIFICATION

• Age Requirement: Runners under 12 must be accompanied by an adult for the adult race.
• Pace Enforcement: Minimum pace of 18:00/mile will be enforced moving forward.
• Monitoring: Each race will have a sweeper, and pace must be maintained.

RACE POLICY

• Bibs: Do not take a bib if not running: it’s safety-related.
• Drop Out: Notify race officials if you have to drop out for safety tracking.
• Condition of Bib: Don’t fold or damage the bib for time recording.

• Volunteerism: Essential for race success and is required for placement in Grand Prix Rankings.
• Experience: No experience necessary: volunteering can be fun.

KTC SAFETY POLICY

• Mission: Encourage lifelong physical well-being through running and walking.
• Safety First: Participants’ safety is a primary concern: weather conditions will be closely monitored.
• Inclement Weather: Changes may include altering start times, courses or even cancellation.
• Delays: Visible lightning will cause race postponement for a minimum of 30 minutes.
