The Apex Promoz Hispanic Heritage 5K returns for its second year—bigger, louder, and more vibrant than ever! Join us Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers for a high-energy celebration of culture, community, and fitness.

 

As the original Hispanic Heritage 5K in SWFL, this event brings together the community to honor the rich diversity of Hispanic cultures while uniting everyone under the American flag. Participants can choose the country they want to represent during registration, proudly showcasing their heritage or the culture they love. Expect nonstop music, festive energy, and an unforgettable race experience.

Participants are encouraged to wear Hispanic-themed outfits, bring flags, and celebrate their culture with pride. Bring your energy, your culture, and your flag—and join us for one of the most vibrant Hispanic-themed races in Southwest Florida!

Couples Dance Competition

Immediately after the race, registered runners will have the chance to participate in a fun Couples Latin Dance Competition.

Note: Only 3–5 couples will participate to keep the competition fun and exciting.

 

Dance Styles

• Bachata

• Merengue

• Salsa

 

Structure

• Couples only

• All couples dance together

• 30–45 seconds per genre

• Continuous music mix

• Total performance time: approximately 2–3 minutes

 

Eligibility

• Both dancers must be registered 5K participants

• Proof of registration required (bib, wristband, or check-in)

 

Judging

Judges will consist of event sponsors.

• Energy

• Rhythm

• Connection

• Performance

 

Scoring

• Couple with the most votes wins

• Tie breaker: crowd cheer or head judge decision

 

 

 

 

Race Awards

Awards will be presented immediately following the dance competition. Must be present to receive your award.
