Race Overview

Hosting Venue

• Ice House: Katy Trail Ice House
• Austin Style: The Ice House is an Austin style beer garden and restaurant, located in the heart of uptown Dallas on the Katy Trail.
• Bar: A fifty foot long bar boasts fifty beers on tap, ranging from Texas Domestics to Regional and International Imports on the draw.
• Patio: We have been awarded the best patio in Dallas with our open seating communal beer garden.

The Run

• Distances: 5K and 1M Fun Run will take place on the beautiful Katy Trail.
• Water Stops: Water stops will be available on the 5K course at mile 1 and mile 2.

The Swag

• Brunch Pass: All American hot dog and beer or mimosa for those over 21 years of age (must be 21 bring I.D.)
• T-shirt: Firecracker 5K T-shirt (sizes may not be guaranteed for last minute registrants).
• Finisher Medal: All participants will receive a finisher medal.

Virtual Race

• Participants: Virtual participants will receive a t-shirt and finisher medal via mail during the week after the race.

Packet Pickup

• Early Pickup: July 2nd, 2pm-6pm: July 3rd, 2pm-5pm at Playtri Dallas.
• Race Day Pickup: July 4, 2026, from 6:45am - 7:45am at the race site Katy Trail Ice House.

Race Day Schedule

• Packet Pickup: 6:45am - 7:45am late packet pickup.
• Contests: 7:50am Canine Costume Contest Winner Announced.
• 5K Start: 8:00am 5K starts (no late starts will be allowed).
• 1M Fun Run Start: 8:05am 1M Fun Run & Dog Walk starts.

Course Notes

• Music Devices: The use of personal music devices during the race is strongly discouraged.
• Safety: A top priority: respect race personnel for a safe and enjoyable race.
• Pets: No pets are allowed on the 5K: pets are welcome in the 1M fun event.
• Age Requirements: Minimum age to participate in the 5K is 6: no minimum age for the 1 mile.

Parking

• Valet: There will be 70 VALET parking spots available at the venue.
• Additional Parking: Other parking available in the surrounding areas.

Awards

• 5K Awards: Top Finisher Overall Male and Female.
• Masters & Grand Masters: Awards for Top Finisher Masters & Grand Masters Male and Female.
• Age Groups: 3 Top Male and Female Finishers in Age Groups from 14 & Under to 80+.
• 1M Fun Run: Not timed, no awards, just fun.

Timing

• Chip Timed: The 5K is a chip timed event, and each participant must wear a timing chip.
• Fun Run: The 1M fun run will not be timed.
• Visible Bib: Please wear your bib visibly on the FRONT for timing purposes.
