Flat & Fast Rural Hall 5K 10K

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

• Event: This is the 18th running of this event and as usual, all race proceeds benefit the Rural Hall Elementary School.
• Certification: Both the 5K & 10K are USA Track & Field certified with a gun start and chip timing for accurate results.
• Schedule: The 10K starts at 8am with the 5K at 8:15am to allow couples or friends to arrive together.
• Course: The 5K is a totally FLAT course, making it perfect for younger runners, walkers, and injured runners.

📍 Location

• Address: Mayflower Seafood Restaurant Parking Lot, 664 Montroyal Road, Rural Hall, NC 27045.
• Parking: Additional parking available next door at Tractor Supply or across the street at Food Lion.
• Course Details: USAT&F certified 5K is out and back using a blocked-off lane of Hwy 65.
• Volunteers: Course volunteers stationed at every turn and deputies or firemen at every intersection.

🏆 Trophies & Awards

• Overall Winners: Top 3 male and top 3 female overall in the 5K and 10K win trophies.
• Medals: Olympic Style Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals awarded to multiple age groups.
• Costume Contest: Optional Halloween costumes encouraged for the 5K with cash prizes for the best costumes.
• Award Ceremony: Awards presented in person at the award ceremony following each race.

💧 Water Stations and Food

• Water Stations: The 5K features two water stations, and the 10K includes an additional station.
• Finish Line Treats: Krispy Kreme doughnuts, chocolate milk, cookies, fruits, and more await the runners.
• Facilities: Clean restrooms available inside the Mayflower, with porta-johns at the start/finish line.
• Entertainment: Our DJ will keep everyone energized with music before, during, and after the race.

📅 Packet Pick-Up

• Early Pick-Up: For pre-registered runners, available from noon to 5pm on Thursday, Oct 23, and 9am to 4pm on Friday, Oct 24.
• Race Day: Rapid packet pickup available on race day in front of the Mayflower Seafood Restaurant.
• Walk Up Registration: Opens at 6:15am on race day: pre-registered runners can collect their packets inside the Mayflower.
• Online Registration: Race day registration possible online and at the walk-up registration desk inside the Mayflower.
