Welcome to the 33rd DC Mark Carpenter Memorial 5K
Divine Child is excited to welcome Falcons and the greater community to the 33rd DC Mark Carpenter Memorial 5K – Lap Around Freddy’s Island.
Event Overview
- Location: Divine Child High School, Dearborn, MI

- Activities: Tot Trot for children ages 6 and under, 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk, and a 5K open to all ages.
- Community Spirit: This vibrant event brings together neighbors, alumni, families, students, and local businesses for a morning of fitness, fun, and fellowship.
Post-Race Celebration
- Awards: Top finishers in the 5K and 1-Mile will be announced on the track.
- Complimentary Food: Hot dogs, sponsored by Dearborn Brand Sausage, and chips will be available beginning at 9:15 AM.
- Family Activities: Fun activities will take place on the field and concourse.
- Community Gathering: All participants and their families are invited to stay and celebrate together.

Race Information
- Registration: Register by July 26 for $35 early-bird price (includes T-shirt).
- Onsite Registration: Available on race day starting at 7:00 AM for $40.
- Water Stations: Bottled water will be available at the start/finish line and along the course.
- Awards: Race awards announced during the social hour following the 5K.
Race Schedule
All races start on the Divine Child track:
- 8:15 AM: Tot Trot (ages 6 and under)
- 8:30 AM: KONA Ice Truck arrives (open for purchase)
- 8:45 AM: 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
- 9:10 AM: Welcome and Prayer
- 9:15 AM: 5K Race Begins
- 9:15 AM: Grill Opens (complimentary hot dogs and chips, sponsored by Dearborn Brand)
About the Falcon 5K
The Divine Child Falcon 5K is an annual public running event held in memory of Mark Carpenter ’68. This community tradition brings together students, families, alumni, and friends of Divine Child in celebration of fitness, fellowship, and Falcon pride.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Divine Child Alumni Association and the Divine Child High School Girls Cross Country Team, supporting both alumni engagement and student-athlete opportunities.

- Packet Pickup: Begins at 7:00 AM at Divine Child High School on race morning.
- Day-of Registration: Yes, opens at 7:00 AM. Shirt size is not guaranteed.
- Online Registration: Closes on July 26 for the $35 early-bird price with T-shirt included.
