The Big Mountain Run - Danny On Hill Climb

Join us for the 44th Annual Big Mountain Run - Danny On Hill Climb!

Run, walk, or hike to the top of Whitefish Mountain Resort! A lung busting fitness challenge, or a casual family hike, the choice is yours! All ages and abilities welcome. Each entry receives a one-time lift ticket back down the mountain.

Event Details

• Date: Saturday July 25, 2026
• Distance: 3.8 Miles with 2,200 ft elevation gain
• Start Time: 9:30am
• Start Location: Danny On Trail (near Hellroaring Saloon) at Whitefish Mountain Resort, Whitefish Montana

Finish Line

Finish at the location where the Danny On Trail reaches the cat track to the Summit House.

What You Get

• Entry includes: lift ticket down, race swag, great prizes, and snacks at the top!
• Awards: Will be on the deck of the Summit House on top of the mountain at 11:30am.
• Categories: Compete for Fastest Adults (King and Queen), Fastest Juniors 16 and under (Prince and Princess), and more!
• Birthday Club: Runners finishing the course in a time less than their age qualify for a cupcake and a special asterisk by your name.

Registration Fees

• Adults (17+): $35 registration, $40 for day of race registration on July 26th.
• Juniors (16 and under): $20 registration, $25 for day of race registration on July 26th.
• Day of Registration Time: Register from 8:00 to 9:10 am by the start of the Danny On Trail.
• Note: Arrive at least 30 minutes before the race to avoid delays.

Fundraiser Details

This is a fundraiser to support the Glacier Nordic Ski Team and Youth Programs. Last year, our 18 and under winter programs comprised of over 250 kids ages 4-18 years old. We offer a variety of options with affordable rentals to ease the cost of entry into skiing.

Trail Maintenance and Programs

The Glacier Nordic Club grooms trails at various venues to support youth health. Your support through trail passes, season memberships, and donations greatly aids in maintaining these trails and funding club operations.
