Race Overview

In honor of Lance Corporal Derek Hernandez, 20, of Edinburg, Texas: assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California: killed June 6, 2010, while supporting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

The Freddy Gonzalez Legacy 5K is more than just a race—it is a tribute to Freddy Gonzalez, Derek Hernandez, and all the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Registration Fees

• 5K: $25 (Includes shirt, finisher medal, and chip timing)
• 1K Kids Run: $10 (Includes finisher medal only)
• Age Group Awards: Male & Female categories - 12 & Under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
• Profits: 100% of profits will continue to be awarded to high school scholarships.
