Galena River Fall Half Marathon & 8k

🚀 Race Overview

Join us Saturday, October 25th for our 8th annual Galena River Fall Half Marathon & 8K! This is a fast, flat half marathon along the scenic Galena River Trail. An 8K race option is also offered.

• T-Shirts: Finishers receive a shirt if registered by September 30th!

🕔 Important Info

• Course Closure: Due to Galena Halloween festivities on that day, the course will close at 11:00 AM. No walkers are allowed for the half marathon, and runners must finish before the course closes.
• Packet Pickup: Packet Pickup will be Friday, Oct 24th from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM and Saturday morning 7:00 AM - 7:45 AM below the Highway 20 bridge in the Train Depot parking area.
• Gear Check: Gear Check is available at the packet pickup table. Please have your gear bag labeled.
• Hydration Stations: Hydration/fuel stations with water, Gatorade, and GU will be at miles 2, 3.5, 9, 11, 12.

📍 Course Details

Course Route: This is an out and back course, utilizing first the south end of the trail and turning around at the 5.50 mile marker and return to the start, which would be the equivalent of 11 miles. Runners will then proceed around the start and head north on the trail for a short out and back for the remaining mileage, back to finish line for your 13.10 miles!

For the 8k distance, the course is also an out and back, beginning the same as the half, with the turnaround marked at 2.50 miles and race back to the finish line!
