Race Description
Come ride the Midwest's best scenery in the Midwest's best season! Cruise the beautiful Mississippi River valley at the height of Autumn. This grand fondo is the perfect blend of challenge and chill.
- Distance: Tour 78 miles of beautiful bluffs and vibrant valleys.
- Ferry Crossing: Crossing America's river via the Cassville, WI ferry (fare included in registration).
- Competitions: Timed segment competitions and category awards for the extra-motivated!
Aid Stations
Three aid stations will be fully stocked with beverages and food to keep you going, and don't forget to take in the views while you refuel!
Ride Routes
Two route options are offered:
- Full Fondo: Begins in the Port of Dubuque, IA and follows the Mississippi River Trail on the Iowa side up to the ferry crossing (approx. 32 miles).
- Ferry Crossing: After crossing the ferry, the route turns back south and east along the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi River Trail/Great River Road.
- Illinois Exit: Crossing down into Illinois, the ride concludes with a trip across the Julien Dubuque Bridge.
- Mini Fondo: A more approachable, yet still challenging ride for anyone wanting a shorter day on the bike.

About BrainBike USA
BrainBike USA is a Dubuque-based organization that exists to promote cycling as a tool for improving brain health. We partner with local nonprofit organizations that invest directly in brain health initiatives, as well as with the local bike coop to expand access to bikes and bike-related education for our community.
