Great 5k and Paddlefest

GREAT Program Overview

The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s GREAT Program offers equine assisted services to children, teens and adults with disabilities. Through certified instructors and trained volunteers, our program positively affects the physical, psychological and social well being of our students. GREAT offers diverse programs to local schools and hospitals as well as private lessons and summer camp programs.

Event Date

• Date: Saturday, October 3, 2026
• Location: Fox Creek Farms, 11958 Ellerbe Road, Shreveport, LA 71115
• 5k Start Time: 8:15 a.m.
• Paddlefest Start Time: 9:15 a.m.

Entry Fees

• 5K and Paddlefest: Early Registration is $50 until Sept. 19, $55 Sept. 20-Oct. 2, $60 race day (includes 1 ticket to The GREAT Post Race Party)
• 5K ONLY: Early Registration is $35 until Sept. 19, $40 Sept. 20-Oct. 2, $45 race day (includes 1 ticket to The GREAT Post Race Party)
• Paddlefest ONLY: Early Registration is $35 until Sept. 19, $40 Sept. 20-Oct. 2, $45 race day (includes 1 ticket to The GREAT Post Race Party)
• Notification: You must register by September 18 to be guaranteed a race shirt

Paddlefest Details

• Paddle Distance: Paddlefest portion will be a 2 mile paddle.
• Requirements: Lifejackets required for the Paddlefest.
• Location: Paddlefest will be at Fox Creek Farms.
• Equipment: Bring your own paddleboard, kayak or canoe for the Paddlefest. If you are interested in renting one ($20), please call Caroline Hendrix at 318-564-5769.

Packet Pick-up Information

• Location: Sportspectrum
• Dates: Thursday, October 1 from 12:00-6:00 pm and Friday, October 2 from 10:00 am-5:00 pm.
• Race Day: Pick up will be from 7:00-7:45 am at Fox Creek Farms.

Awards

• 5K Awards: Will be given to 1st overall 5K finishers male and female and in each of the following age groups: 18 & under, 19-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.
• Paddlefest Awards: 1st overall Paddlefest finishers male and female paddleboard, kayak, and canoe.
• Special Categories: 1st overall 2 person kayak and 1st overall 2 person canoe.

The GREAT Post Race Party

Join us for a post race celebration at Fox Creek Farms. $15 gets you into the party where you can sample delicious food provided by Sample Farms and cooked by Ki’ Mexico. There will be live music, drawings, door prizes and lots of fun for the kids!
