OUR CAUSE
Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little-known and poorly understood cause of a heart attack. Most patients are young, healthy, and active women who do not have the typical risk factors of heart disease. Although less common, it can affect men too. SCAD can recur and can be fatal. Research is needed to identify the cause(s) and the best treatment options.

SCAD is the number one cause of heart attacks for women under the age of 50.

Register by September 17, 2026 to be guaranteed this year's SCADaddle t-shirt.

RACE DETAILS

Chip Timing: We use a disposable chip timing tag that participants receive at packet pick-up on their race bibs. It is lightweight and remains attached to the race bib. Runners/walkers must wear their race bibs on the front of their clothing to be timed accurately. Please do not layer over the bib.

Runners/walkers MUST wear their race bibs on the front of their clothing to be timed accurately. The bib cannot be covered; holding it or putting it in your pocket will NOT read the chip. Do not bend the chip. Smartwatches like Garmin and smartphones can interfere with the timing chip frequency. Please do not adjust your watch or phone as you cross the finish line and come through the chute. Disputes over time on smartwatches and smartphones will not be considered.

Awards: All runners and walkers will be timed. Awards will be given to the top three (3) overall male and female and the top male and top female in each of the following age categories: 0-10, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
We encourage all participants to run or walk at their own pace.

Packet Pick-Up for runners AND walkers: Packet pick-up begins at 8:00 am on race day. We will accept registrations during this time but cannot guarantee this year's t-shirt. There is also an in-person pre-registration & early packet pick-up at the Meet & Mingle on October 16, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 pm The Gathering GVL, 126 Augusta Street, Greenvile, SC 29601  .
