Hair of the Dog

Welcome to Hair of the Dog 5K and Beer Mile!

WHEN:

• Date: Saturday, May 9th
• 5K Start: 10:00 AM
• Beer Mile Start: 12:00 PM
• Kids Donut Dash: 2:00-ish

WHERE:

• Location: Atypical Brewery & Barrelworks
• Address: 510 E Central Ave, Minot, ND

WHY:

• Passion: We love running, dogs, and beer.
• Community: Our goal is to give back to local animal rescue organizations.
• Fun: This race is social and not a qualifier for any championships.

EVENTS:

5k Run/Walk and Dog Jog

• Format: Traditional 5K event, timed.
• Participation: Bring your dog or join us for fun!
• Perks: All participants receive a signature Hair of the Dog mug.
• Beer: Free post-run beer at Atypical.

Beer Mile

• Details: 4 beers and a 1-mile run!
• Process: Drink beer in the Beer Zone, run 1/4 mile loop, repeat.
• Penalty: One lap for “tossing your cookies,” not an extra beer.
• Team Option: Form a Relay Team with four friends.

Kids Donut Dash

• Eligibility: Children 12 and under.
• Activity: Eat a donut and then run 1/4 mile.
• Awards: All participants receive a Donut Dash participation medal.

Wiener Dog Derby

• Entry: Open to all Dachshunds and mixes.
• Participation: Each dog needs two human assistants.
• Awards: Top 3 dogs will receive prizes.
• Goodies: Each dog will get a treat bag and custom bandana.

Packet Pickup and Day of Registration:

• Date & Time: Friday, May 8th from 4:30-7:00 PM and Saturday from 8:45-9:45 AM.
• Additional Pickup: Beer mile from 11:00-11:45 AM and wiener dog check-in from 1:30-2:00 PM.
• Registration: Available on the same day, cash and credit cards accepted.

Awards:

• 5K: Awards for top 3 overall male, female, and dog.
• Age Categories: Awards for top male and female in various age groups.
• Beer Mile: Top 3 overall and 1st place relay team.
• Wiener Dog Derby: Awards for top 3 dogs.

Designated Drivers:

• Safety: Plan to have a designated driver.

Other Festivities:

• Family Friendly: All ages can participate in most events except Beer Mile.
• Additional Activities: Food trucks, vendor booths, and fundraising events.
• Local Rescues: Present to ensure everyone has a great time!
