Volunteer Requirement: In order to enter EITHER DISTANCE (100 Mile or 100 K) you must either volunteer a minimum of 8 hours at a running race (ultra/trail preferred), or at an adaptive sports program between May 1, 2025 and June 15, 2026 OR pay the $250 Buy-Out fee.
Approval for Volunteer Time: The Race Director will generally approve time volunteered at one shorter race or a series of shorter races as long as the 8 hours can be met.
Alternate Activities: Also generally approved are time volunteered at youth running programs, or trail maintenance for any local state or national trail system.

BUY-OUT FEE OPTION
Buy-Out Fee: If you choose not to volunteer, your other option is to pay the $250 Buy-Out fee. If the fee is paid, no volunteer hours are required.
Payment Methods: The fee can be paid online during registration, later on this site, or by mailing in a check made out to Vermont 100 to: VT100, 27 Graves Street, South Deerfield MA 01373.
Refund Policy: The buy-out fee is partially refundable in compliance with the partial refund schedule shown on the race website.
Submission Deadline: You will need to complete your Service Requirement and submit the online form by June 15th, 2026.
IMPORTANT DEADLINE
Submission Form: You can find a link to the form and information on the requirement on our website or HERE.
No Submission Consequence: If we do not receive your Service Requirement Form or your Buy-Out fee by the deadline, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO RUN.
DISTANCE QUALIFICATION
100 MILE Event: In order to compete in the 100 MILE event, you must have completed a 50 mile qualifying race in 12 hours or less, a 100 K finish in 16 hours, or a 100 miler finish in 30 hours or less.
Qualifying Race Dates: Your qualifying race must have been completed between January 1, 2025 and June 1, 2026.
No Distance Qualification: There is no distance qualification for the 100 K event.
Submission of Qualifying Races: If you have not submitted your qualifying races Name, Date and Time by June 1, 2026 YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO RUN the 100 mile distance or will be automatically put in the 100k race.

Refund Notice: The VT100 Endurance Race will offer a partial entry refund as shown on the race website.
No Deferrals: We will not be deferring entries to the next year's event.
Refund Eligibility: A participant who pays the Buy-Out fee who officially withdraws may be eligible for a partial refund of this fee in compliance with the partial refund schedule shown on the website.
