Event Overview
A great family fun event in conjunction with the Friends of Wilton Recreation.
Who We Are
The Friends of Wilton Recreation, Inc. has been formed to seek private funding to assist the Wilton recreation facilities and programs to benefit activities for all ages in our community.
- Mission: To assist a Park and Recreation System which enriches quality of life for residents and visitors alike and preserves it for future generations.
- Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for development outside the department’s budget.
- Community Support: Developing community relationships and securing resources for recreation programs.
- Holistic Development: Promote the development of the whole person (not just the athlete) including respect for oneself and others.
Ways Recreation Serves Our Community
Gavin Park is a central recreation complex for residents of the Town of Wilton and surrounding communities.
- Youth Activities: Offers After School Program, Summer Day Camp, and various sports programs.
- Community Events: Hosts family celebrations like the Holiday Tree lighting and Community Day.
- Regional Engagement: Hosts regional athletic tournaments and events that attract thousands to local areas.
- Employment Opportunities: Provides jobs for many area youth.
