Castaic Lake

• Location: Takes place at scenic Castaic Lake just 20 miles north of Los Angeles.
• Recreation Area: Castaic Lake Recreation Area is an 11,200-acre multi-use facility.
• Activities: Offers boating, world-class fishing, hiking, walking, horseback riding, wakeboarding, jet-skiing, camping, picnicking, kayaking, and sailing.
• Temperature: August is a great time to enjoy the water in the high 60s.

The Course

• Swim Course: Modified V shape in Paradise Cove with 8 lifeguards on paddleboards.
• Bike Course: Utilizes back roads to limit interaction with cars: includes U-turns.
• Run Course: Primarily on the rolling trails overlooking Castaic Lake.
• Safety Note: Athletes should slow down at the turn around points on the bike course.

Air Temperature (Avg)

• June Weather: Morning temperatures are often cooler with early morning fog burning off.
• Expected Temperature: Event will possibly be around 60 degrees.
• Afternoon Highs: Reaches the mid 80s.
