Lake Benbrook Half Marathon & 5K

Event Overview

Cox Running Club is proud to bring back one of the most historic running events in the DFW Metroplex!

• Tradition: After several years of lower participation, we seriously considered retiring this event. However, we believe some traditions are worth fighting for.
• Rejuvenation: Instead of canceling, we have decided to challenge ourselves, rebuild the race, and bring new energy to one of the oldest and most meaningful running events in North Texas.
• Legacy: The Lake Benbrook Half Marathon is recognized as the oldest half marathon in the DFW Metroplex, and we are excited to continue that legacy on Saturday, January 23, 2027.
• New Additions: For 2027, we are not only bringing back the Half Marathon and 5K, but we are also adding a brand-new 10K distance.

Race Day Schedule

• 6:30 AM: Race Day Registration & Packet Pickup Opens
• 7:45 AM: Half Marathon Start
• 8:00 AM: 10K Start
• 8:10 AM: 5K Start

Race day packet pickup begins at 6:30 AM at the race site.

Half Marathon

T-Shirts

• Event Shirt: Participants will receive a men’s/unisex long-sleeve technical event shirt.
• Size Guarantee: Shirt sizes are guaranteed only for participants registered by January 15, 2027.
• Availability: After this date, shirts and sizes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Finisher Medals

All finishers in the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K will receive a custom finisher medal.

Packet Pickup

• Early Packet Pickup: TBA
• Race Day Packet Pickup: Will begin at 6:30 AM at Dutch Branch Park.

Awards

Awards will be given in each distance to the following:

• Overall Male & Female
• Overall Master Male & Female
• Overall Grandmaster Male & Female

Age Group Awards

Age group awards will be given three deep in each race.

Age Groups: 12 & Under, 13–15, 16–18, 19–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70–74, 75–79, 80 & Over

Awards may be picked up at the race site on race day. Awards will not be mailed.
