Lansing Turkey Trot

Race Overview

Join us for the Lansing Turkey Trot on November 27, 2025, at 500 N Grand Ave, Lansing, MI. This fun event allows participants to enjoy a 5K run/walk on Thanksgiving morning.

Start Time

• Time: 9 am on Thanksgiving Morning.
• Flexible Start: Start the 5K run/walk any time between 9:00 and 9:10 am.
• Wide Start Area: You do not have to feel rushed to get to the starting line.
• Timing: Timing does not start until you cross the timing mats!

Parking Information

• Location: Lansing Community College parking ramp will be open and available.
• Free Parking: Ample free parking is available in the ramp.
• Convenience: Easy in and out, with volunteers guiding you.
• Exit: You can exit the ramp before the last runner has finished.

Entry Fee Details

• Cost: $30 until November 19th (Shirt is guaranteed).
• Late Registration: $35 from November 20th to November 26th (Shirts available while supplies last).
• Family Discount: Register 3 or more people together and save $3/person (10% discount, valid until November 19th).
• Registration: Be sure to preregister. There is no race day registration.

Packet Pick Up

• Location: At Playmakers, on Tuesday 11/25 and Wednesday 11/26 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
• Community Center: Packets will be picked up at the Playmakers community center.
• Family Picking: You may pick up packets for family and friends.
• Race Day Pickup: Begins at 7:30 am at Lansing Community College in the Gannon building.

Results and Awards

• Results: Your accurate chip time and place will be texted to your phone.
• Age Group Awards: Medals to top 3 in each age group from 10 & under to 85+
• Overall Awards: Medal and $50 Playmakers gift certificate to overall winners.
• Awards Table: Medals available at the awards table starting at 9:45 am.

Proceeds

Proceeds from the race go to support High School and Middle School Cross Country and Track programs, and Youth Running Clubs through the Michigan Running Foundation grant program.

Virtual Trot Option

If you can't make the race and still want to participate, sign up for the virtual race and we will mail out a shirt and bib to you! Run your virtual race any time from November 22 to November 30. Cost is $35 and includes shipping. No awards for the virtual event. Registration for the virtual event closes on November 19th. Packets will be mailed out by November 24th.
