About this race
What is it?
A 6-Hour race around scenic Nolte State Park, featuring a 1.4 mile loop course. With minimal elevation gain, crushed gravel/packed dirt terrain, and few roots and rocks, this course is accessible to every level of runner/walker. It's also pretty speedy for those looking to chase 50k PRs. Yes, it is November and the weather may be awful, but that's all part of the fun. Half sufferfest and half party, NEN is a celebration of running and the fellowship it creates.
Registration Information
- Registration Fees: This year, we will be waiving registration fees and accepting optional donations to benefit the Washington Trail Association (WTA).
- Community Focus: So come get loopy, make friends, and support a good cause. This event is more about building community than competition, but prizes will be awarded to the top male, female, and non-binary athletes.
Additional Information
- Aid Station: There will be an aid station stocked with water, electrolytes, and a limited amount of traditional ultra running snacks. Participants are encouraged to bring something to contribute to the aid station if they have the means to do so. Bringing your own reusable cup is also highly appreciated.
- Parking: Nolte has a large parking lot and road parking is also permitted. The gate to the park opens at 8am and a Discover Pass is required.
- Dogs: No running with dogs - Unfortunately, while the park allows dogs, our insurance does not. Dogs may be present, if they are leashed and minded by someone besides the runner, but they cannot run with participants during the race.
- Pacing: It is a public park and friends and family can be on the course with you, but please be respectful of other visitors. If the park is crowded (unlikely during November, but you never know), please don't run with a large entourage.
- Permitting: Permitting for this event is still in process, but should be approved (per the park ranger). In the event NEN does not receive permitting, everyone will have the opportunity to recoup their donations.
