Run the Dam for Davenport

Event Overview

Come RUN THE DAM for Davenport on Saturday September 5, 2026! This challenging 5K run/1.5 mile walk starts on Littleville Road in Huntington, MA and follows the Gateway Regional School home cross country course. The course includes pavement, fields, and trails along with 3 distinct inclines including the famous DAM hill @ roughly the 1 mile mark (of both the walk & run options).

Purpose of the Event

All proceeds will go directly to Davenport Child Care in Chesterfield, MA. Davenport is approaching its 30th year of providing a safe and healthy learning environment that allows children to learn and explore.

Registration Information

• Bib Pick-up: Bib Pick-up and same day registration will take place in the Gateway Regional School parking lot at 12 Littleville Rd in Huntington beginning at 8:30 AM on 9/5.
• Pre-race Meeting: There will be a pre-race meeting at around 9:15 AM.
• Walk Start Time: Walkers will set off at 9:30 AM.
• Run Start Time: The run will start at 9:45 AM.

Finish Line Details

Finish line for both the walk/run is at the flagpole atop the Littleville Dam's viewing area @ 32 Goss Hill Rd, Huntington. Runners/walkers will need to shuttle cars to the dam (boat ramp parking lot on Goss Hill), be picked up at the dam OR make the short walk (1.5 miles) back to their cars in Gateway's parking lot. Walking back can be a great cool down while you bask in the accomplishment of your race finish!

Parking Information

• Spectator Parking: Spectators may park at the boat ramp parking lot and take a short trail walk to the finish line.
• Closer Parking: Closer parking will be available at the dam's ranger station: however, this will be reserved for event staff and spectators with mobility challenges.
