January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month!

Join us for the 3rd Annual Light the Darkness 5K working to put an END to Human Trafficking one step at a time! Our mission is to raise awareness, provide education and funds to benefit the prevention, identification, rehabilitation and support of survivors of those who have been sexually exploited.

This is an evening out and back BEACH race that will start on the beach in front of LORI WILSON PARK! This is our official launch of our Get Outdoors for Freedom Spring &: Summer Series. If you love the outdoors and want to contribute to the solution in ending human trafficking, you can walk, run, hike or golf....All for the Freedom of others!

NEW!! There will be a race village with vendors and a food truck starting at 3:45 pm!

RACE DETAILS

Pre-Race

• 1st PACKET PICKUP: January 16th, Cocoa Beach Friday Fest 6-9 pm.
• 2nd PACKET PICKUP: January 23rd, Carib Brewery, 200 Imperial Blvd., Cape Canaveral. 6-8:00 pm.

SCHEDULE FOR RACE DAY

• Date: 1/24 - SATURDAY @ Lori Wilson Park 1500 N. Atlantic Ave. (I Dream of Jeannie Ln. South Entrance), Cocoa Beach, FL 32931
• 3:45 PM: Race Day Registration &: Packet Pickup Opens
• 5:15 PM: Race Day Registration &: Packet Pickup Closes
• 5:30 PM: 5K Start!

7:00 PM - Music, Beverages, Vendors, Raffle Giveaways and Prizes!

Head Lamps, Neon &: lighted apparel and accessories are necessary!

AWARDS

Awards will be given to: 1st, 2nd, 3rd overall male and female, master male and female. No age group awards will be given.

Prizes and awards for best lighted participants! So Come Festive!!

Fees

• $30: Register Before midnight on 1/2
• $35: Register after midnight on 1/3-1/16
• $40: Register after midnight on 1/16 - Race Day

Amenities

• Finisher medals: to all participants.
• One FREE raffle ticket: Dozens of fabulous and festive raffle prizes.
• One FREE drink ticket: Additional post race refreshments available.
• Shirts: Unisex short-sleeve. EARLY REGISTRANTS can order a tank top option!

Vendors

We are adding vendors this year with our new location! Each vendor will receive a 10x10 spot in our Race Village. Vendors are required to have their own lighting (solar lights are not bright enough), tent and generator if power is needed. Any questions can be directed to lightthedarkness5K@freedomfighter.org.

Parking for the Event

Parking for the event is at Lori Wilson Park, both lots first come basis. Overflow parking will be in the Cocoa Beach Health &: Fitness, 1355 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach.
