Lincoln Presidential Half Marathon

Race Overview

Join us on Saturday, April 11, 2026 as runners from many states and countries take in Abraham Lincoln sites during this scenic half marathon. This USATF certified course will immerse you in Lincoln history unlike any other race!

Race Details

• Starting Location: The race starts at the Old State Capitol where Lincoln gave his famous House Divided speech.
• Historical Sites: Just across the plaza from the Capitol, within the first quarter mile of the race, is the Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices, the only building still standing where Lincoln practiced law.
• Home of Lincoln: Runners pass by the only home Abraham Lincoln ever owned, not even a mile into the race.
• Cemetery Visit: During mile nine, runners enter Oak Ridge cemetery and are able to view Lincoln's final resting place.

Final Stretch

• City Park: Mile 10 takes runners through a local city park named after the 16th president.
• Historic Station: During the final mile, runners will pass by the historic Union Train station directly adjacent to the Abraham Lincoln Museum and Library.
• Finish Line: The finish line is just one block from the Abraham Lincoln Museum and Library.
• 13.1 Miles of History: So much history in just 13.1 miles! Whether you are interested in Lincoln history or not, we promise this race is well worth it!

Expo Information

• Expo Date: 4pm – 8pm on Friday at the Old State Capitol - 1 N Old State Capitol Plaza, Springfield, IL 62701.
• Vendors: We will have some awesome vendors and sponsors this year that will be on hand with giveaways & information.

Packet Pickup

• Friday Packet Pickup: Packet pickup will be held at the Old State Capitol - 1 N Old State Capitol Plaza, Springfield, IL 62701 from 4-8pm on Friday.
• Race Morning Packet Pickup: Will take place at the Old State Capitol from 6:30am-7:15am, right near the start line.
• Recommendation: We strongly recommend getting packets the night before the race to see all the exciting new vendors!

Registration Information

• Registration Closes: 7:00am on race day or when sold out. Must register from your own device: no paper registration.
• Start Time: 7:30am
• Race Cut Off: 3 hours 30 minutes, approximately a 16-minute pace.
• Shirts Availability: Shirts and jackets are available until inventory runs out. If your size is showing available when you register, it's yours!
