Lincoln Presidential Half Marathon

Race Overview

Join us on Saturday, April 11, 2026 as runners from many states and countries take in Abraham Lincoln sites during this scenic half marathon. This USATF certified course will immerse you in Lincoln history unlike any other race!

Race Route Highlights

• Start Line: The race starts at the Old State Capitol where Lincoln gave his famous House Divided speech.
• Historic Sites: Just across the plaza, within the first quarter mile, is the Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices, the only building still standing where Lincoln practiced law.
• Lincoln's Home: Not even a mile in, runners pass by the only home Abraham Lincoln ever owned.
• Final resting place: During mile nine, runners enter Oak Ridge cemetery to view Lincoln's final resting place.

Local Attractions

• City Park: Mile 10 takes runners through the local city park named after the 16th president.
• Historic Station: In the final mile, runners pass by the historic Union Train station adjacent to the Abraham Lincoln Museum and Library.
• Finish Line: The finish line is just a block from the museum, completing a historical journey.
• Overall Experience: So much history in just 13.1 miles! We promise this race is well worth it!

Expo Information

• Date and Time: Expo will be held 4pm – 8pm on Friday.
• Location: Old State Capitol - 1 N Old State Capitol Plaza, Springfield, IL 62701.
• Vendors: We will have some awesome vendors and sponsors this year with giveaways & information.

Packet Pickup

• Friday Packet Pickup: Will be held at the Old State Capitol from 4-8pm on Friday.
• Race Morning Packet Pickup: Takes place at the Old State Capitol from 6:30am-7:15am, near the start line.
• Recommendation: We strongly recommend getting packets the night before the race to enjoy the exciting new vendors.

Registration Details

• Closing Time: Registration closes at 7:00am on race day or when sold out.
• Registration Method: You must register from your own device: there is no paper registration.

Race Logistics

• Race Start Time: 7:30am.
• Race Cut Off: 3 hours 30 minutes, approximately a 16 minute pace.
• Shirts and Jackets: Available until inventory runs out: your size is yours if it shows available at registration!
