Run the Field: Land That I Love 5K

Event Overview

The inaugural "Run the Field: Land That I Love 5K & Fun Run" takes place on Sunday, September 20th, 2026, at Brookfield Local Schools.

Location: 614 Bedford Road, Brookfield, Ohio 44403.

Event Schedule

Fun Run: The 400 Meter Fun Run takes place at 9:30am and is open to all ages!

• Course: The Fun Run will be one lap around the track.
• Awards: Fun Run medal for all participants.

5K Race: The 5K begins at 10:00am and the course consists of residential streets (some hills) and the track.

• Timing: The 5K is chip-timed by GCXC Racing - Youngstown.
• Finisher Medals: Commemorative finisher medals for 5K participants.
• Awards: 5K awards to the top three overall men and women as well as top three males and females in age groups: 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Up.

Honoring Our Armed Forces

One section of our 5K course will be dedicated to our Friends, Family, and Community who are soldiers (both past and present) of our Armed Forces. If you would like to have your loved one honored, complete the registration form. A $10 donation will enable you to keep the poster insert and you will receive a certificate of thanks. A small version of the poster will be added to our Military Honor Book that is viewable at the registration/information table (poster inserts may be subjected to the weather). If a poster is damaged by the weather or other race conditions, it may not be available to keep.

Warrior Games Competition

A "Warrior Games" competition will take place after the race - all ages are welcome!

Decathlon Events: Compete in the following events:

• Events: Hopping Hurdles
• Events: 460 (centi)-meter Log Roll
• Events: Standing Long Jump
• Events: Beach Ball Shot Put
• Events: Frisbee Discus
• Events: High Jump & Touch
• Events: Corn Hole Toss
• Events: 30 meter Skip
• Events: Ring Toss
• Events: Paper Airplane Javelin Throw

Team Participation: Compete as an individual or part of a 3-person team! If competing as a team, please contact Megan at [email protected] with the three team member names.

Additional Competitions: Test your skills in the Trivia Competition or compete in the Scavenger Hunt!

Costume Contest: A patriotic costume contest will also take place! Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and there will prizes in these categories:

• Categories: Best Dressed Icon (Person, Character, Place etc)
• Categories: Overall Patriotic (Red, White, & Blue, etc)

Proceeds

Proceeds help with Brookfield Middle School trips to Washington DC and Camp Fitch.
