Panther Cheer Halloween Spirit 5K & 2.5K Run

Show Your Panther Spirit—Halloween Style!

The Panther Cheer Halloween Spirit Run takes place Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Elizabethtown High School Panther Stadium. The event features a timed 5K Run/Walk and a free Kids’ 2.5K Fun Run/Walk.

Both races begin at 8:30 a.m.

The course features a 2.5K loop around the EHS campus. Kids will complete one lap, while 5K participants will complete two. Whether you are a hardcore runner, friends enjoying a morning walk, or simply trying to outrun the ghosts and goblins, everyone is invited to join the fun.

Costumes are strongly encouraged! Come dressed as your favorite superhero, movie character, monster, Panther fan, or anything else your imagination can create. Just make sure your costume allows you to safely run, walk, and see the course.

5K Registration

Registration for the timed 5K is $35 through October 23 and $40 on race day. Applicable RunSignUp processing fees will be added at checkout.

Participants registered by October 4 will receive a Panther Cheer Halloween Spirit Run shirt. Shirts are not guaranteed after the deadline.

5K registration also includes:

• Official race bib: Provided for all participants.
• Professional race timing: Ensures accurate timing for all runners.
• Posted results: Available after the race for participants to check.
• Post-race water: Hydration provided following the event.

Free Kids’ 2.5K Fun Run/Walk

Children ages 12 and under may participate in the Kids’ 2.5K Fun Run/Walk for free. Registration is required.

Every child who finishes will receive a special Halloween candy bag. A responsible adult must remain onsite for every child participant.

Race shirts and finisher medals are not included with the free kids’ event.

Awards and Costume Contest

Awards will be presented at approximately 9:15 a.m. at the 50-yard line.

Awards will be given to:

• Overall Male 5K Winner: Recognition for the top male performer.
• Overall Female 5K Winner: Recognition for the top female performer.
• Best Individual Costume: Award for the most creative individual costume.
• Best Group or Family Costume: Award for the best themed group or family costumes.

Race-Day Schedule

• 7:00–8:15 a.m.: Packet pickup and race-day registration at EHS Panther Stadium.
• 8:30 a.m.: 5K and Kids’ 2.5K begin.
• 9:15 a.m.: Race and costume awards at the 50-yard line.

Parking

Participant parking will be available at Memorial Methodist Church. Vehicles should enter the parking area from North Miles Street.

Event Policies

• Permitted items: Walkers, strollers, leashed dogs, and headphones are allowed.
• Participant guidelines: Walkers and participants using strollers are asked to begin toward the back of the starting area.
• Prohibited items: Bicycles, scooters, skates, skateboards, and similar devices are not permitted.
• Costume safety: Costumes may not include realistic weapons, sharp objects, or anything that could create a safety hazard.

The event will be held rain or shine. It may be delayed, modified, or canceled if lightning, severe weather, or other dangerous conditions threaten participant safety. Registration fees are nonrefundable. Should the event be canceled, registration fees will be treated as donations to the EHS Panther Cheer Boosters.
