Rider Options

• Multiple Routes: Riders can choose from multiple route options to match their goals for the day.
• Course Design: Each course is designed to provide a mix of smooth gravel, rugged sections, and plenty of climbing.
• Untimed Ride: The ride is untimed—this is about the experience, not the results.
• Inclusivity: E-bikes are allowed and welcome.

Sunday Cyclocross & Camping

• Weekend Kickoff: The weekend kicks off on Saturday with a gravel ride, trail running race and cyclocross clinics.
• Camping Opportunity: Riders are encouraged to camp on-site Friday and Saturday night to soak in the atmosphere, connect with fellow cyclists, and make the most of the weekend.
• Festival Feel: The event setup includes a large open field with plenty of space for camping and parking, creating a festival-like setting.
• Pre-Race Action: Join the fast-paced action and great opportunity to warm up or spectate before Sunday CX race.

Post-Ride Gathering

• Social Hour: After Down For Gravel on Saturday, stick around to share stories.
• Food & Drinks: Enjoy wood-fired pizza and relax with a cold beer from Frost Beer Works.
• Refreshment: A post-ride swim in Mirror Lake is highly recommended—there’s no better way to cool down after a long day on the bike.

Location & Accessibility

West Newfield is conveniently located about an hour’s drive from Portland, Maine, and less than two hours from Boston, making it an easy weekend getaway for gravel riders from across the region.
